Application Value of Transient Elastography (TE) in end stage kidney disease
A latest study using TE (FT system) in hemodialysis patients conducted by the University of Malaya and National Institutes of Health, Ministry of Health, Malaysia presented at the virtual APDW 2021 meeting this week. This study suggested a high prevalence of MAFLD and advanced liver fibrosis in hemodialysis patients in Malaysia. Nephrologists should consider a more proactive approach in diagnosing MAFLD and/or advanced liver fibrosis in hemodialysis patients.
